Educational Technology

Software built
by someone
who has been
in your seat.

I spent years working inside schools and colleges before I wrote a line of professional code. That background shapes every project I take on — I know what a busy teacher needs on a Monday morning, and I build accordingly.

Most developers translate your requirements from the outside. I translate them from experience — and that changes everything about what gets built.

Cup of tea conversations about your brief

My path into software development ran through classrooms, staff rooms, and IT offices. Before I wrote production code I worked alongside the people who use the systems I now build — which means I understand the constraints, the politics, and the pressure points that a developer parachuted in from outside simply cannot see.

When a school's reporting system needs to pull data from three different platforms at half-term, I already know what that feels like from the other side of the screen. That knowledge makes every project faster, cheaper, and — most importantly — more likely to actually be used.

I work with institutions of all sizes, from single-campus secondary schools to large multi-academy trusts. Every engagement starts with a plain-English conversation, and nothing gets built until we both understand exactly what success looks like.

Free Utilities

Tools I built for myself.
Now yours, at no cost.

Over the years I have written small utilities to make my own work easier. I share them here because the problems they solve are not unique to me — and software that costs nothing to share should not be kept to oneself.

Get started

Let's have a conversation
about your project.

Whether you have a detailed specification or a vague problem you haven't yet been able to articulate — a conversation costs nothing and usually gets you further than you'd expect.
